Exploring the spontaneous beauty of local street artists

Sometimes as a blogger I have to make hard choices. For example, I had promised that I’d be posting some of my original photographs soon. Sometimes, though, categorization can be a challenge. Is the work more suitable for the “Society of Assholes” category or should I create a new “avant-garde” area? As usual I take the chicken-shit approach and make the choice to not decide. I’ll simply let the work speak for itself. Welcome to my new Photography category.

The above piece of spontaneous street art is entitled “Shit Punks Smashed And Threw In The Street.” The goal was to capture the serendipitous confluence of man-made beauty meets mother nature. Hopefully you’ll agree the results are striking.

For the photo geeks out there, I like to keep my equipment simple. My photography instrument of choice is a Nikon Coolpix 4100. It is a simple point-and-shoot that takes pictures and stuff. I believe the only thing less powerful would be pencil and paper. That makes my stuff avant-garde and oldskool all at the same time.

To close out this initial foray into the magical world of my photography imagination I would like to share another piece from the same exhibit, this one entitled “Bricks And Shit That Some Punks Smashed.” For this project a pile of concrete blocks were stacked by a building. After that, it was only a matter of waiting a short period of time for nature to take its course.

Please reflect and enjoy! I, your humble artiste, will be happy to answer any of your questions about my work in the comments section below.
